PhD Students Visit Hockney Exhibition at Tate Britain

The Art History Department organised a trip for PhD students to visit the David Hockney retrospective Hockney: 60 Years of Work at Tate Britain in April.

In the morning we met up with co-curator Dr Chris Stephens (Head of Displays and Lead Curator of Modern British Art, Tate Britain), who offered fascinating insight into how the exhibition had been conceived, as well as the practical considerations involved; this added an extra dimension to going round the exhibition itself in the afternoon.
