Its publication coincided with the National Gallery exhibition Strange Beauty: Masters of the German Renaissance, which was co-curated by Dr Nuechterlein and Dr Susan Foister (Deputy-Director of the National Gallery and Curator of Early Netherlandish, German and British Painting).
