Edited by the exhibition’s curators Stephen Calloway (V&A)and Dr Lynn Federle Orr (Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco) assisted by Esmé Whittaker, the catalogue includes contributions from many scholars, including two sections by Professor Elizabeth Prettejohn (University of York): ‘Aestheticism in Painting’ and ‘Late Paintings’; and a section on ‘The Musical Ideal in Aesthetic Art’ by Dr Suzanne Fagence Cooper, Honorary Visiting Fellow in the History of Art Department, University of York.

The catalogue also contains contributions by Susan Owens, Hope Kingsley, Christine M. E.
